Bamboo and Anchor Scar Tattoos
I’ve heard and seen a lot of branding style tattoos and obviously plenty of regular tattoos…but I have never seen anything like this. Folks get layers of skin cut with a scalpel and peeled off them so that the scar process maintains the tattoo shape. I can’t even begin to imagine how painful this has to be. The end result of the bamboo in the pic on the boat looks pretty cool, but I think I’ll stick to the regular stuff.
Thanks to Your Tattoo Sucks fan Amber for sending these in!

This Is Actually Called Scarification And The Most Painful Part Is The Healing As They Do The Outline With A Scalpel And Then Numb It Before Cutting Any Further

this doesn’t suck at all. it’s actually done very well.
the fact that the moderator of this site doesn’t think scarification sounds like a fun afternoon shouldn’t get these pics tagged with the word ‘sucks’
what an asshole.

Yeah, the moderator sounds mildly retarded.

These are amazing scarification pieces.
Way better than many shitty tattoos that people have…

Whatever to the ppl who like scarification tats! If ya like these then ya probably like surgical piercings and hooks and like to hang from your own skin.

Supermekai is apparently one of the most informed people currently walking the planet… We should all feel so lucky to be blessed with your mindless banter… Of course we like “surgical piercings” <(whatever the hell those are), "hooks" & to hang from our own skin… Good job bud, keep on keepin' on… To rest of you, Thank you for appreciating the extremely well done art work that these guys have done/gotten!

Just because it’s on this site doesn’t necessarily mean it “sucks”. I’ve seen many that he’s commented on that he’s said were good.

He never says it sucks or one bad word about it really, only that it looks painful & that it does. It also looks Freakin awesome but no way I’m ever doing that!

F*ck that noise. I can take a needle buzzing in my arm, but a scalpel cutting bamboo trees into my back would have me shitting bricks.

These are simply gorgeous. What’s funny is that scarification, much like tattoos and piercings, is one of those things you’d imagine would hurt a lot more than it actually does (at least until you run out of endorphins and adrenaline. Then you’re pretty screwed). Your body has safeguards to protect itself from feeling short-term pain. The healing process, however, is it’s own story all together. I wouldn’t know about that part.

pretty sure normal tattoos were once considered crazy/painful/weird this scarfication style of body art just needs more time for people to get used to the idea

Know how you can get laser treatments to (hopefully) remove a tattoo you regret? I don’t think there will ever be an equivalent for this.
I can appreciate the technical aspect of this being good work and art; hell, it looks like they even pulled off some sort of shading equivalent on the anchors. But YIKES! That is going to hurt like a bitch while healing. I can only imagine how bad it would suck to subsequently discover that you have a hereditary tendency to form big, nasty keloid scars.

WTF?!!!! THAT LOOKS VERY PAINFUL AND DISTURBING!! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD GET THOSE FAKE TATTOOS MADE OUT OF THEIR OWN SCARS (LAYERS OF PEELED OFF SKIN)??
